As part of HAE's commitment to development and training we have embarked on an Apprenticeship scheme. The scheme, "Skills for Security", is tailored to Security Systems, enabling our Apprentices to get a broad understanding of this area of engineering.
Skills for Security is part of a national programme of government- funded provision to raise the skill levels of young people. It aims to develop an individual's knowledge and skills within the workplace environment giving them the opportunity to continue learning outside full-time further and higher education.
We are pleased to welcome our two Apprentices; Irfan Patel and Sheldon George. They will follow an 18 month college course, one day a week, with the rest of their time spent „shadowing? an engineer to obtain a Level 2 qualification in Security Systems. At the end of this period they will have the option to complete their Apprenticeship and obtain their Level 3.
Every Wednesday Irfan and Sheldon will attend Uxbridge College to complete the knowledge based element of the Apprenticeship. The practical element will be completed on our various sites with the support of HAE and their appointed Mentor.
Next month we will be catching up with Irfan and Sheldon to find out what they are learning and how they are finding the Apprenticeship so far.
